Man, the 2025 Romanian presidential elections were honestly wild, way more dramatic than usual. I remember seeing so many debates on social media and even my parents couldn't stop arguing about it! The big reason they were crazy this time was because the last election got canceled due to some Russian interference allegations. Like, imagine thinking you know who won and then the court just throws it out because maybe Russia messed with it. That made people super anxious and angry, so protests broke out all over the country.

Then you had Nicusor Dan, who is pretty pro-Europe and liberal, against George Simion from the AUR party, who's more nationalist and against helping Ukraine. Simion even won the first round, but a lot of people freaked out because he was seen as too extreme. So when Dan finally won, you could actually feel the relief, even through my friends' Instagram stories. People were saying it's the most important election since communism fell, and honestly, I kinda agree. There was just way more tension and actual drama than any other election I can remember.
