Honestly, it's kind of wild how fast things happened with the Rivers sole administrator resigns thing. If I was put in charge of a whole local government, I'd at least wait a bit before bailing, you know? But the guy, Goodluck Iheamnacho, said he wanted to go back to his private business. I've heard that's usually code for political drama or crazy pressure.
From what I read, there were rumors that he didn't have much support from the locals, and some people were even saying he got threats and was literally forced out. I remember hearing grown-ups talk about how these kinds of jobs come with a ton of pressure, especially if you're not fully trusted by the people or the state's power bosses. Plus, elections weren't even held to pick him; he was just appointed coz the last set of chairmen finished their terms. That alone made things awkward.
It's not just about wanting to leave for business. Most people think he just couldn't handle all the drama and decided it wasn't worth it. Some say he might also want to run for office in the coming elections, which is a pretty smart move if you ask me. Jobs in government are messy, and if you don't have support, you get out or get pushed out. Happens everywhere.
