Honestly, I get why people are hyped about trent alexander-arnold going to Real Madrid because he’s such a creative player, but part of me wonders if it’ll really work out. His attacking is next level, probably the best for a right back, but his defending gets called out a lot in England. Real Madrid fans expect a lot from their defenders and Dani Carvajal was a beast defensively when he was fit, so there’s some big shoes to fill.

I remember watching some of Madrid’s games last season and the fans went off about defensive mistakes. If Trent doesn’t improve at the back, people might get on his case pretty quick. But then again, Madrid has more possession and their whole team is so attacking, maybe that covers up his weaknesses. Still, I think there’s a chance it could kinda backfire if he can’t adjust. I’ll definitely be watching those first matches, especially if he debuts against Al Hilal. It’s pretty cool, though, seeing an English player actually risk leaving the Premier League for Spain, not many do that anymore. Hope he proves everyone wrong!
