Okay, so having the fg declare public holidays all the time is kinda double-sided if you ask me. Like, my family always tries to plan road trips or summer hangouts, but then a new public holiday pops up and everyone’s plans get scrambled last minute. My mom even joked last year that the holidays were secretly just to keep us home!

But it’s not all bad—sometimes an extra day off means getting to do stuff you normally wouldn’t, like hiking, going to the movies midweek, or playing sports with friends who are usually busy.

The tricky part is if you booked something ages ago and didn’t see a holiday coming. Suddenly, all the fun places get crowded, and sometimes prices for rides or tickets go up because everyone’s free at the same time.

Still, I think I’d rather have more public holidays than less. Even if it messes with some plans, it’s also a good excuse to try random stuff or just have a chill day. You can’t deny surprise breaks are awesome for hobbies—even my dad dusted off his old fishing rod last time. So I’d say they help more than they hurt, as long as you’re flexible.
