I'd totally say it's worth checking out, especially if you love crime stuff. I thought maybe Dept Q would be all hype because Netflix loves pushing their new series, but it actually surprised me. The show is based on those super famous Danish books by Jussi Adler-Olsen and it doesn’t just recycle the usual cop tropes. The cold case unit, the way their team comes together, and the main mystery keep things moving.

Yeah, some people complained about the season feeling a bit dragged—there are nine episodes and maybe it could be shorter—but honestly, I liked that we got to spend extra time with the characters. The actors, like Matthew Goode and Chloe Pirrie, totally kill it, and the side stories make you want to see what happens to everyone, not just the main cop. There's also some heavy stuff with trauma and real emotions, not just solving crimes for fun. I've found that if you stick with it, you'll probably get way more invested than you expected. So yeah, not just hype in my opinion—it's got that gritty, real feeling.
