Yeah, I've noticed that too! You'd think everyone would be comparing which country has better beaches or resorts, but for some reason, every time Mozambique vs Mauritius comes up, it's always about football or some other sport. In my experience, both places are totally famous for their epic beaches – like, Bazaruto Island is so pretty and quiet, and then you look at places like Le Morne in Mauritius, and it just blows your mind how nice it is. I guess sports just get people way more hyped, especially in Southern Africa where football really matters to people. Maybe it's because sports rivalries give everyone something to argue about and gossip over, but with tourism you're just picking where to chill. To me, it's pretty funny how people care more about who wins at football than about which country has cooler waves or whatever. I'd say both are awesome for different reasons, but yeah, the sports rivalry is way louder online!
