I'm not totally sure if joe don baker ever flat-out said he regretted skipping the Walking Tall sequels, but from what I've read and seen, he didn't seem to lose sleep over it. Walking Tall was such a surprise hit, and Baker put everything into playing Buford Pusser, but after that, he kinda liked moving on to different characters and not getting stuck playing the same dude forever.
I remember people asking him about typecasting, and it kinda came off like he enjoyed mixing things up and trying weird or bad guy roles too, instead of getting stuck as "the sheriff guy." He might've missed out on some easy money or even more fame, but it seems like he valued doing cool stuff more than just racking up sequels.
Actors sometimes talk about not wanting to repeat themselves, and that was totally Baker. So even if the sequels got made without him, I doubt he was sitting around wishing things had been different. He seemed pretty content with how everything worked out, and honestly, that's pretty admirable to me.
